Fakenham Golf Club is situated on the site of Fakenham racecourse and is a pleasant parkland type course. The present course has been in existence since 1974 however there has been a golf club in Fakenham since 1889 when the first course was laid out on the common land at Hempton.

The current course has a very attractive layout with some holes following the route of the river and three holes inside the race course itself. Fakenham is a par 71, nine-hole course with alternate tees on many holes and a length is 6245 yards from the white tees. Playing Fakenham is a good test for the experienced golfer but not impossible for the beginner.
